BIS-CRS :
In May 2015, under Scheme II of Schedule II of the Bureau of Indian Standards, cash registers were included in the mandatory product list for the compulsory registration order to assure that the product is of good quality and safe.
Cash Registers are required to be tested and registered as per Indian IS 13252 (Part 1): 2010.

LMPC (Legal Metrology for Packaged Commodity) :
Ministry of consumer affair mandated LMPC registration for all the packaged commodities.

EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) :
Producers, importers, or brand owners dealing in cash registers are required to register their product in CPCB under product category LIW2.
It’s their responsibility to recycle the used cash registers after the completion of their life cycle so that their impact on the environment could be controlled.
